We Have a Winner!

This was the first year I participated in the caregiving.com Holiday Progressive Blog Party and I am already counting the days to the one next year!  Hubby baked sugar cookies and habanero cheesecake and (gasp) Lemon Bars for the occasion (well, he actually baked all that for a family Christmas Party we attended yesterday but I’ve enjoyed a few lemon bars while reading blogs).

Okay, okay, fine.  I admit it.  More than a few. . .
During the Blog Party, I was introduced to a few new caregiving sites (Care About You; Caregiving LibraryA Day in the Life; Intentional Caregiver; Jersey Jenny and SandwichINK) and continue to support and admire the work done by Denise Brown at Caregiving.com.

Along with reading great blogs, we had prizes this week!  From the caregiving.com site, NJ won an autographed copy of my book, Forever a Caregiver (I may add in a few extra goodies to her gift bag just because it’s the season to do that!).

Also, as promised, I picked a winner from the commenters on my site this week and the winner is (imagine a drumroll, please): June Sockol.  June also writes (excellently) at Life of a JuneBug about, as she says, her “life as a mom-preneur to an autistic son.”

June also wins an autographed copy of Forever a Caregiver.  June just may find a few extra treats in her gift bag as well, although, I’m going to have to keep those Lemon Bars for myself!

Congratulations to the winners!!

If you’re looking for a Christmas gift to give to a caregiver (or to someone who just likes to read about crazy families), Forever a Caregiver continues to be on sale until December 14.  Enter the code BUYMYBOOK305 at checkout.

Now, off to sneak another Lemon Bar or two . . .

Hi Trish ~ Thank you very much! I was very excited to find out a won a copy of your book :)

I love learning about you and Robert. As caregivers, we can be great resources for each other and I've certainly learned a lot from your experiences. You've also been a great support system :)

G-J, Someone needs to stop me from eating the lemon bars. At this point, my only hope is they all get eaten before I get home from work. Hopefully, our son stops over today. You can always count on the teenage boy to devour everything. :-) Thanks for the nice comment on my book!

June, You are so right that caregivers are the best support and resource for each other. I hope you enjoy the book! It's in the mail . . .

Trish,
Just LOVED your book! I could relate to so many things right down to Mom buying oodles of toilet paper when time was running out. You wrote much of what I only thought. Even after the funeral and all the details were wrapped up, I had a AM when I woke up and realized my first thought WASN'T "What should I be doing?"
I love the happy picture of the 4 of you on the front. Thanks for sharing!
And what a pleasant surprise to find the little extras you included! Brought a big smile to my face. Blessings and Merry Christmas to you!

NJ, I'm so happy you enjoyed the book! Thank you for telling me you related to it -- when I wrote it, I was hoping it would be a story people could relate to. Wishing you a Merry Christmas as well and hope your day was very happy and your New Year is full of surprises & joy!
